Report an Emergency - 911
Recruiting
Volunteer firefighting was first introduced to the United States in 1776 by Ben Franklin. That tradition has carried through the generations and is prominent today. Volunteer firefighters make up 65% of the workforce in the fire service. Without volunteers, calls will go unanswered and lives would be at risk.
Pierce City Fire is looking for community members who wish to carry on the tradition of pride, honor, and valor. Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back to the community you live in? Are you interested in a career in the fire service? Are you interested in driving those fire trucks you see lit up with lights and sirens? Apply now!
There is no experience required! If you meet our minimum requirements and have the drive and determination to become the best you possible, we want to talk with you!
Explorer Program
Pierce City Fire Explorer Program is a youth oriented program directed at helping young adults who have an interest in the fire service. Young men and women between the ages of 14 and 18 are invited to become Fire Cadets. Our program provides an opportunity for junior high and high school students to become familiar with career opportunities available in the fire service.
Cadets are taught the basic skills of firefighting and EMS. Much of the training is hands-on with supervision from instructors from within the department.
Cadets will also have the opportunity to utilize their hard work and training by responding to emergencies through the ride along program. Cadets assist with virtually all routine tasks in the community and around the fire station, including community involvement, fire prevention, equipment and station maintenance, and training. These qualities will benefit them not only in fire service careers, but also in future endeavors.
The program is designed to encourage and promote accountability, being safe, communication, teamwork, fitness and the development of leadership skills.
